A significant change in Continuing Education (CE) for licensees was effected in 2003 as it was increased from 8 Hrs to 16 hrs, effective for renewals after June 30, 2004. 8 Continuing Education hours are MANDATORY for every licensee, and an additional 8 Continuing Education hours will be elective in real estate related subjects.
Mandatory 8 CE hours will be in the following required topics:
Ethics and Standards of Conduct (3 hr)
Legal Updates and Emerging Trends with Flood Instruction (1 hrs)
Real Estate Agency (1 hr)
Real Estate Contracts (1 hr)
Fair Housing (2 hrs) including an update on current cases and administrative decisions under fair housing laws.
Evaluating Rental Property (4 hr)
Practical Landlording (2 hr)
Second Home Investing (1 hr)
Capital Gains Tax (1 hr)
